Why it matters

Online shopping is built to beat you.

It takes one tap to buy something. Cool Down locks the app or site you were about to buy from until your timer runs out. By the time it opens again, you usually don't want it.

how it works

Three taps. Zero buyer's remorse.

An urge is loudest the moment you feel it. Cool Down helps you outwait it.

01

Add it, don't buy it

See something tempting? Drop it into Cool Down instead of hitting checkout.

02

Let it cool off

Cool Down locks the shop until your timer ends. Twenty minutes is usually enough. Set longer for the big ones.

03

Skip it, keep the cash

When the timer's up, most urges are gone. Skip the buy and watch the savings stack up.

before you ask

The honest FAQ.

Is Cool Down really free?

Yes. Free at launch, and the core stays free. We might add an optional paid tier later for people who want extra, but the pause itself will always be free.

Do I have to connect my bank?

Never. You add tempting purchases yourself. Cool Down has no link to your bank, no view of your cards, and no way to touch your money.

Will you spam me?

No. Joining gets you exactly one email, on launch day. We never sell your address and you can leave anytime.

How long is the timer?

You set it. Twenty minutes is the default and it is often enough. Set a day or a week for the bigger ones.

Does it actually work?

Urges are loud at the moment you feel them and much quieter a while later. Cool Down does one thing about that: it makes you wait. The buys that were not worth it quietly pass, and the ones that are will still be there when the timer ends.

When does it launch?

Not locked yet. The iPad version is still being built and I would rather ship it right than ship it on a date I made up. The waitlist hears first, before any public announcement.

Stop paying the impulse tax.
